personal musings of a native Torontonian, currently living in Philadelphia. she predicts she will turn into Emily Gilmore when she gets older.
I own many white dresses (LWD) and no little black dress (LBD). I fully understand the versatility of a good LBD - classic yet individual. But I come from a country where it is winter 8 months of the year and not the pretty Christmas card version of winter and after months of greys and browns, an LBD is no longer appealing. For a brief window of 2 months, my hometown is gloriously beautiful. And so my way of dress wants to reflect all that summer bliss and not to compete with it. And nothing beats a LWD when it comes to celebrating eternal summer - IN
Rainy Wednesday in Toronto so I thought I’d blog one of my favorite swimwear lookbook photos this season. There is everything to love here: the beach, the waves and white swimwear. The crochet cover-up dress? Perfection in the form of summer knitwear - IN

Having been in NYC during this summer’s first heat wave (and consequently, on the first day of summer 2012), this look is so lovely for city living. I adamantly adhere to the “no white after Labour Day” so while white dresses require careful dining and frequent washing, they are so wonderful during a heat wave.
I realize that I’ve been blogging a lot about the heat. It really seems to be all anyone is talking about this summer in North America - IN
