The children are back in school. Everyone seems to have embraced the fact that it is Fall with their black/brown/grey windbreakers and hoodies. But according to, you know, science and stuff, it’s not really Fall until September 23 this year. So really, there is still time to hold onto those summer staples, right?
To be fair, Fall can be quite delicious. A promise of coffee and pie in the air. Fashion magazines trying to outweigh each other. Depressing Russian novels. Pretentious Swedish notebooks. Cashmere sweaters. Trench coats. Wool blazers. Riding boots. Something about leaves changing colours that everyone gets so excited about.
I am still wearing my navy blue sandals. And the smell of Hawaiian Tropic still reminds me of Spain. As Lilly Pulitzer once said, “it’s always summer somewhere.”
